Happy Easter

Last week was one of those crazy weeks when I got invited to see three really cool things. Firstly my manager, his wife, my husband and I, went to see “The BOSS”! My my, what an amazingly generous and warm performer. I’ve been hip for many years about how good he was but he exceeded all of my expectations. Hats off to you and your band Mr Springsteen!

The second outing was with my goddaughter Ciel’s dad. We went to the opening night of “War Horse”. To me, theatre is a place to let your imagination run free, and that’s exactly what this play allows

you to do. Amazing story, amazing cast, but be warned it is sad, but beautifully so…

Last but surly not least, was the opening night of “The Addams Family”. I knew I’d like it because one of my oldest and dearest tribe members from “Hair” John Waters played Gomez. He happens to be my first crush, and one of our most talented actors… I grew up watching the TV show… The audience loved it from the moment the orchestra started playing the overture. It’s a very clever slant, on a very funny and family orientated show, that has been written with old and new family values .. Loved it! The hardest thing for such a diverse social week is always what to wear…I know you’re feeling me ladies.

Have a safe and loving Easter. It’s actually my favourite holiday – because when I was growing up all us girls would get a new Easter bonnet and outfit to match (oh yeah)….Seems I was a fashion victim even then.

Don’t eat too many Easter eggs …..

National Prevention Week

An Australian first, National Prevention Week (NPW) is an initiative by Prevention magazine that seeks to raise awareness of the power of preventative health. Health issues such as cancer and diabetes affect thousands of Australians, so the aim of NPW is to highlight that the majority of them can be reversed (or prevented altogether) with small lifestyle changes, like healthy eating and exercise. NPW runs from March 18 – 24, so don’t miss it!

What A Summer!

How’s your summer going?

It’s been a really weird one don’t you think – crazy weather, hotter than hot one week and then almost as cool as a mild winters day. What would we do if we didn’t have the weather to complain about? There would be a serious lack of conversation between us all. My thoughts and prayers go out to all families who have been affected in the fires and floods, I’ve been thinking about you a lot.

I’ve just spent a week on the Hawksbury River taking in the sites and doing some fishing. Honestly I fished from first thing in the morning till last light. It’s nice to do nothing but appreciating nature and hope to feel that magical bite on the end of your fishing rod – and hope like hell that there’s something on the end of the line that you can handle. Watched a great movie while we were away – MARIGOLD HOTEL – I’d heard about it and finally purchased the DVD – if you’ve not seen it, do yourself a favour and check it out. It’s a real gem.

Anyway that’s me for now. My love to you and yours. Stay happy and stay well. Marcia x

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year to you all. I hope that your New Year’s Eve celebrations were good fun. The band and I were in Perth doing a gig for the Hopman Cup. It was hotter than usual in Perth town. I’ve got to say it was a memorable gig because of a couple of things. 1 – The audience was filled with some amazing tennis stars and 2 – Lucky me, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga got up on stage and had a dance!! The audience were all having a great time, and so did the band and I. On January 1 we flew back on the very full Qantas flight from Perth to Sydney. It was good to get back home and away from the heat.

Several days before Christmas my daughter got married to

my now son in law, Daniel Moses. It was a very heartfelt and romantic ceremony, and she looked beautiful as only a bride can. Welcome to the family Daniel.

We spent Christmas day at one of my extended families home. We ate a lot, laughed a lot, and enjoyed the very special bond that we all share.

It feels as if the New Year is going to be quite an eventful one. We’ve got some special things planned, and as soon as it’s cool to do so, I will tell you what we are up to.

May 2013 be filled with good health, love, peace, prosperity, and happiness. Dudley RIP.

Much love to you all Marcia.

Merry Christmas

It’s that time again. Seems that the holiday season comes faster and faster every year. It’s a great time of the year, people are out and about enjoying the weather and finding the perfect presents for

their loved ones… ( good luck with the shopping) …..I’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and may 2013 be filled with good health, love and

peace…. and lots and lots of good music ….Marcia

New York City – November 2012

Hi everyone. So now I’ve had time to get back into the swing of things, let me tell you about my road trip / air trip with my daughter Deni less than a week ago to NYC. It was so cool to spend a couple of weeks hanging out with her shopping and just being girls. And what better city to hang out in than NYC. Yes we shopped and ate and walked our butts off. Talked a lot about stuff in general. And most importantly, she and I took care of

some serious “secret woman’s business” (smile) and shared some real quality time together.

Most people in the States think that my accent is weird. Usually when Deni and I were asked a question by a stranger in New York, I would try and let her answer and then watch the look on their faces when they would hear her Aussie accent. It cracked me up watching people try and work out just what she was saying, and where that weird accent came from.

We watched as much trash TV as humanly possible, and went to several clubs to dance and to hear live music. All in all it was a blast. It’s a great city to visit, but by the time we were due to come home, we were ready to board the plane and endure the long flight to come back to SYDNEY. That Harbour Bridge is truly a sight for sore and tired eyes……….
