Food, friends and fun. Does it get any better?

Blog Post: Hello All,

I hope that my message finds you all well, happy and enjoying some of the early Spring sunshine that’s upon us.

You know I actually woke up today and said to myself “my-oh-my where’s this week gone?” and I can hear y’all saying “does she talk to herself?”. Well the answer is yes, and often! I also sing as soon as I wake up but that’s another story that we can share on another day.

I spent last weekend in Melbourne and performed at the Fight Cancer Foundation’s “Red Ball”. What a fantastic event for a great cause and a grand time was had by all. Melbourne can really turn it out.

I also had the opportunity to shop and hang-out with a friend at a cheese and wine bar in the city. After a show I like to remove the war paint and crawl into bed, so this was unusual for me but it was so good for a change to chat and relish a good friend’s company and enjoy some really cool blues music.

The week’s almost gone, but what a week it’s been! Had another great dinner at China Doll this week. Love the venue, the wonderful staff and consistently good food! Also attended the premiere of Aladdin in Sydney last night – what a fantastic show! Great to see my friend Chaska on stage, and I want one of those magic carpets of my own! Also managed to spend some time cooking and hanging-out with good friends to laugh and eat – I ask you, does it get any better than this?

Also had a ball performing at Revesby Workers Club over the weekend, it was wonderful to see you all dancing and having a great time!

Please take the best of care. Laugh a lot, love even more, be kind to one another. And, if the situation presents itself, eat some chocolate (ahhhh …even if it doesn’t, find some chocolate anyway).

Love and peace.

Marcia

    Hi Marcia,

Just wanted to say a big thanks for singing Happy Birthday to me on Saturday at Revesby Workers. I surprised 50 of my friends and took them on a bus from Surry Hills to Revesby to see you perform for my 40th birthday. They had no idea what was happening. Mum thought my partner and I were getting married and my brother thought we were going on a ghost tour. My best girlfriend was the only one that guessed it (gotta love girlfriends) as we have both been fans for so long and she knew that I’ve always wanted you to sing at my 40th. Anyway, I was lucky to make the dream come true.

You have played a big part in my life. My first boyfriend at the age of 17 played your music and it has since helped me in the tough times (often heart breaks) and also helped me enjoy life (celebrate the good times through music). Your voice gets inside of me and inspires me. Words don’t describe it but I feel it and love it.

We have met several times. I’m usually the adoring fan waiting to get a photo. Yes – I have a few but you are always so happy to smile and greet me. You are always so humble and gracious. One of my favourite times was when we met in Melbourne at Red Raw. You came early to do the warm up and I was dating Tony one of the organisers so I got to hang around and watch. I’ve seen you in vineyards, nightclubs, restaurants and RSLs. Large venues and more intimate venues. You always bring down the house and give me a chuckle with your stories.

I will continue to follow you. You really do help me appreciate this thing called life. I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by loving family and friends but often external factors drive us forward. You are this for me.

I hope you are feeling creative at the moment and are working on your next album or show. I love it when you release new material so please keep it coming.

Again, thanks for singing happy birthday to me on Saturday night. You made a dream come true and made 50 of my friends Marcia fans, just like me.

    Lots of love,
    Jeff
